Johnson Matthey operates well-equipped research and development facilities for synthesis of materials, compounding materials testing, and evaluating performance of catalytic reforming and sorbent materials.
As a result of the creativity, level of experience, and concentration of efforts of our staff in this area, as well as our outreach and collaboration with numerous universities, breadth of specialized lab equipment, materials and test rigs available in our lab, we are able to create and deliver high performance CATACELJM catalysts and sorbents for numerous applications including:
- Processing of all common fuels, including methane, propane, gasoline, methanol, diesel fuel and jet fuel
- Steam reforming, partial oxidation, and shift reactions
- Catalytic reforming for hydrogen production
- Combustion reactions
- Methanation reactions
- Removing CO2 from exhaust streams
